Client services / VERITÉ
Privacy policy.
This policy explains how Verité Clothing uses personal data when you browse, buy, contact us or subscribe to our emails. Marketing consent is separate from placing an order or asking for help.
1. Who is responsible?
Verité Clothing is the controller for the personal data described here.
Registered address: Wilniserf 4, Tilburg, The Netherlands
KvK: 95797696
Email: info@veriteclothing.com
2. What we use and why
- Orders and delivery: name, email, delivery and billing details, selected products, order history, payment status and, where provided or necessary, a phone number. We use these to fulfil the contract, deliver items, handle returns and communicate about an order.
- Support and withdrawal requests: contact details, order references and the information you choose to include. We use these to answer your request, meet contractual or legal duties, and manage legitimate interests in resolving questions and disputes. Please do not include payment-card information, identity documents or unnecessary sensitive details in a message.
- Email subscriptions: email address, signup source, consent information and any preference you choose to provide, such as Man or Woman. We use your consent to send collection news, a requested welcome offer and early-access information. Preferences help us choose relevant imagery and content; they do not change your legal rights or product access.
- Website operation and security: technical request information, session and cart data, and limited security logs. Necessary processing supports the store, protects against abuse and lets us investigate problems.
- Optional analytics and advertising: where enabled, and subject to consent where required, information about visits and interactions helps us understand performance and relevant advertising. We do not treat a purchase or a support request as automatic consent to marketing.
Required fields are marked. Without the information needed for an order or support request, we may be unable to fulfil it. Optional fields can be left blank. We do not use the Man/Woman preference to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Emails and preferences
Newsletter signup forms are connected to Klaviyo. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing or necessary order and service messages. We may retain a minimal suppression record to respect your opt-out. A help request does not subscribe you to promotional emails.
4. Service providers and sharing
Our store uses WordPress and WooCommerce, hosting and technical services, Klaviyo for email and form-related data, payment providers for the method selected at checkout, and shipping and logistics services such as Sendcloud and the delivery carrier. They receive information needed for their role. For Dutch address completion, the postcode and house number entered at checkout are checked with the PDOK address service. Customer names, email addresses and payment details are not included in that address lookup. Payment providers process payment details under their own applicable terms and privacy notices; we do not ask you to enter full card details into an ordinary contact form.
Where a provider acts on our instructions, appropriate processing arrangements are required. Some providers may also act as independent controllers for their own legal duties, such as payment or delivery services. We do not sell personal data. Data may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The store needs certain session, security and shopping-bag cookies to operate. Optional analytics and advertising technologies require a separate choice where the law requires consent. Browser cookie controls can remove stored cookies, although essential store features may then stop working. Removing cookies is different from unsubscribing from email; use the email unsubscribe link or contact us for that.
When you submit a subscription form, we process your details in Klaviyo in accordance with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
6. International processing
Some service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Applicable data-protection rules require a valid transfer basis, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses, where required. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
7. Retention and security
We retain personal data for as long as needed for the stated purpose, legal obligations and legitimate handling of claims. Core business and tax records generally have a seven-year retention requirement; specific tax schemes or records can require longer periods. Support data is retained according to the need to resolve the matter and any applicable claims or legal duties. Marketing data is reviewed when consent is withdrawn or the relationship ends, while minimal opt-out records may remain to prevent unwanted mail.
We use measures appropriate to the risks, including access controls and secure connections. No service can guarantee absolute security. Access should be limited to people and providers who need it for their role.
8. Your privacy rights
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and withdraw consent. You can object to direct marketing at any time. Contact info@veriteclothing.com. We may reasonably verify identity before disclosing or changing data; do not send an identity document unless specifically necessary and requested through a suitable secure process.
We normally respond within one month. Where the GDPR allows an extension for complexity or the number of requests, we will explain it within that month. You may complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or another competent supervisory authority.
9. Changes and contact
We update this policy when our processing changes. The version date helps you identify the current text. For questions, contact Client services or email info@veriteclothing.com.
